A Life in Trainers

Look at where your footsteps have gone,
The prints they’ve left behind,
The excitement they’ve felt,
The blood and sweat they’ve had trickling out of them into a pair of sole’s

Expose your shoes to the elements.
Let them breathe, soak up life,
Fire up a dance floor, walk the earth.

Wear them out
Till your feet scream and shout.
Explore.
Make your own trail,
Even if at first you fail.
Get off the beaten track,
Discover the mansions as well as the shacks.

Make sure they have a good grip so they’re planted firmly on the ground,
This way it will be easier to get around,
And if you get lost, you’ll be easily found.

Wear them out,
Till your shoes scream and shout,
Till there’s no soul left to make a sound.
